The Cambridge A-levels program is an internationally recognized qualification for students aged 16-19. It is offered by Cambridge Assessment International Education, which is part of the University of Cambridge. The program is designed to prepare students for university-level study and is highly regarded by universities around the world.
The programme covers a wide range of subjects and students can choose to study any combination of subjects they wish. The most commonly taken subjects are Mathematics, English Literature, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History, Economics, and Business Studies. There are over 55 subjects to choose from.
The A level programme is divided into two parts: AS (Advanced Subsidiary) and A2. AS level is usually studied in the first year, and A2 level is studied in the second year. Students can choose to take both levels in the same year or take them separately in different years.
Assessment in A level programme is usually done through written exams, although some subjects such as art and music may require practical or coursework components. The exams are typically taken in May/June and October/November each year.
